We got the call from Boston Children's Hospital on Friday! We truly believe this is Shane's absolute best for a great outcome and are blessed to find out that BCH's Cardiology/Cardiac Surgery Department has been nationally-ranked #1 three years in a row...this brings some peace to a inexperienced "heart" mom. Shane's surgery is scheduled for September 7th with us arriving a week before for a pre-op work-up and a heart cath/MRI on September 4th. We are very grateful for these four months Shane has had to adjust and pray that our time in Boston will be as short as possible : ). Trusting the Lord to prepare us all, impart His wisdom to the staff at BCH as they formulate a plan of action, and continue to heal our little guy! Thank you in advance for your prayers as this day approaches and we plan logistics for our family at home.

A Few Summer Pics...and an Update
This summer has been filled with waiting and vvisits and waiting and preparing and waiting....
We visited family in Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina. We packed up Lauren for Africa and are now preparing to pack Josiah for Belmont. And we are still waiting official word about Shane's surgery. As of Monday, our paperwork is in the final stages of approval at Boston Children's Hospital(BCH). It is looking like the end of August. All of us hoped that this would happen during the summer...ease with the school year activities. However, we are confident that the Lord knows best! Will update you all with concrete plans as soon as we have them! Any suggestions for travel/hospitalization long distance with/from family would be greatly appreciated :)

We are sad for the loss of Grandma, but praising God for Grandma and
Granddaddy choosing a relationship with Christ late in life! Granddaddy is adjusting and doing well at 91! He hears better than I do, I think!
Shane cooling off in our little wading pool.
A personal tour of the fire department with big brother Phil! Nice to have a fire fighter in the family!
Fourth of July funny faces!
My mom, Nomi, with Josiah! And some beach fun at Pawleys!
Olivia's summer recital pics!!
A stop at Alexa's for a sleepover to see her cute house...so much character!!
Three Years and So Much Joy!
Our sweet Olivia has been home with us for three years...as of July 22! We celebrated as she wanted with broccoli, corn on the cob and chicken. She was given her choice of dessert as well. She chose S'mores in the backyard....hers, however, never made it to the crackers and chocolate : )

Off to Africa!!
In just a few short hours, these two sisters will be heading to Ethiopia and Uganda for the "Man Up" trip with Visiting Orphans. It has been a dream for both Kayla and Lauren to go at some point...doubt either ever thought they'd be going together! : )
I know God is smiling at that!!
Thank you all for your prayers as they begin this journey, the lives that will be transformed(esp. their own), and all of the details of traveling.
Mom and Dad love you, sweet girls!
"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."
